DURATION | 3-6 Mesi
Youth unemployment is a severe problem in many African countries, among them Uganda. While entrepreneurship can be a viable alternative in tight labor markets, businesses in low- income countries tend to be small and typically have little prospects for growth. Our research program centers around an entrepreneurship training for university students implemented by our local partner StartHub Africa that sets out to foster the creation of high-potential enterprises. It aims at turning job seekers into job creators.
As a team of researchers from Munich (Germany), we closely cooperate with StartHub Africa to support their entrepreneurship academies and to answer policy-relevant research questions. On the one hand, we study selection into participation in the entrepreneurship training. On the other hand, we assess the short- and medium-term impact of the entrepreneurship training. To do so, we seek for motivated and qualified field research assistants that support our team.
As a collaborator to this project, you will be in close contact with our researcher team and our partner StartHub Africa to:
a. Support the implementation of the entrepreneurship academies.
b. Manage and organize (phone) interviews as well as surveys.
