The Institute for Indian Mother & Child (IIMC) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1989 by Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary to provide primary health care and education to people experiencing poverty in West Bengal, especially women and children.
Sujit, after getting a medical degree in Europe, started going from village to village to provide health assistance to women and children who could not get to the hospitals or clinics in the far away city.
Today the organisation has increased its activities and includes, besides medical assistance, an education program, a women empowerment program and a microcredit program.
The project involves the discovery of the world of microcredit. Data analysis, on-site research, questionnaire administration, institute sustainability study, proposals for improved performance.
